在一些词上有区别，英国人喜欢把O或U放在一些单词中，有些词意思相同但拼写不同，比如说apartement（美式）叫做flat（英式），还有些词的重音和口音不同。所以英语并不是通用的，要分得清英美式。其实世界上还有许多种类的英语，只是用的人比较少

不论是英国人说的英语还是美国人说的英语，他们所使用的英语语法基本上都是相同的，差别主要在：

１口音上；

２一些单词的拼写上，美国人比较懒，总是少一个字母，如：colour EE(English English) / color AmE(American English)； humour EE / humor AmE；

３某些单词的使用，如 flat EE / apartment AmE 公寓
loo EE / john AmE厕所
lift EE / elevator AmE电梯

发音不同

除了个别的写法和发音不一样,大多数都一样的.

I think grammatically, British English and American English are the same, but the accents are very different. Like when we Americans say girl, we curl our tongue, but the British doesn't. And there are many minute details. You can probably get some American movies and British movies so that you can hear the difference. I think Harry Potter is a nice choice. The fifth one I heard is great, I really want to see it, I just never got around to it.
