关于yet单独使用表否定
Recently I came across with the usage of "have yet to do" meaning "haven't done", which makes me feel somewhat odd. As "yet" doesn't always has negative meaning, it seems to me there's a missing "not" before "yet" in the phrase.
Maybe it's a typical instance of language alteration?

Stillness finds no place in an active language. English is changing, so is Chinese. We will feel uncomfortable with some "innovations" but it'll turn out fine for the language at last.
In fact we've encountered this kind of situation throughout the path learning a language.

Maybe getting accustomed with these "unnatural" part is a neccessary part of "sense of language"

"Yet" has many kinds of usages. Below are two of the cases:
（1）而如果用在否定句/疑问中的含义却是 up to this point of time
I have not finished it yet.
I have not yet finished it.
（2）Yet可以用在肯定句中(意思和still差不多)：
This has yet/still to be determined
This is/remains yet/still to be discussed
