It was an intermittent war between France and England that lasted　from　1337　to　1453 or 116 years.
The causes were partly territorial and　partly　economy. The direct cause was the dispute over succession to the French throne.

It spread through Europe in the 14th century, particularly in 1347-1350.
It had reduced England‘s population from four million to two million.
As a result, much land was left untended and there was a terrible shortage of labor.

The Anglo-Saxon Conquest was important in English history because it laid the foundation on which the English nation was to be formed.
Anglo-Saxons were Basis of Modern English race.
Anglo-Saxons are Germanic tribes who came to the island in the fifth century, and settled there and drove the Celts out and became the new inhabitants.
